April is National Library Month - Visit the Library and check out a good book. If you have any overdue books, you can return them during April with no late fees.

Honors Classes - If you wish to take an honors class next year, you must sign up in guidance.  This is only for honors classes and does not include AP classes.  Remember, to take an honors class next year, you must sign an honors contract at the beginning of the year, and you will be expected to turn-in a summer assignment within the first five days of school.  Summer assignments will be distributed in May.

Jobs for Florida Graduates Program - If you are a rising senior and have leadership skills, enjoy being involved, and have an interest in having a job your senior year then you should become involved in the JFG program. Pick up an application on the guidance bulletin board. The JFG will take 50 seniors. This program works on college & career readiness skills and helps with job placement. You can contact Mrs. Motes or any of the JFG seniors to learn more about this special program. All applications are due by the end of April. Students will be selected in May for this program.

Spring Musical - "Newsies" performances will be May 2nd - May 12th at CL Overturf School in Pignato Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at Ralph's House of Flowers.

Scholarships are available to eligible seniors. Stop by guidance weekly to see if there are any you would like to apply for.

The $2500 Horatio Alger Scholarship deadline is June 15. This is for students planning to attend a Career and Technical school, or a state college to earn a two year AS degree or certificate program. www.horatioalger.org

If there are any students interested in learning computer skills and important job related skills this summer, we have the Data Busters Program Summer-2019 applications in the guidance office.

Yearbook - If you have taken any photos for PHS events or games the yearbook staff would like to see them for a featured page in the yearbook. Also seniors check with yearbook staff about putting your senior quotes and cap and gown or senior pictures as a casual shot for the yearbook.

Crime Stoppers are having a Student Poster Competition. Entry Deadline is April 18th. Flyers with rules and instructions are available in the front office and guidance.
